About Ms. Mahakdeep Kaur Sethi

Children do not always express their thoughts and feelings through words. Sometimes they communicate through play, behaviour, stories, or simply through the way they interact with the world around them. Ms. Mahakdeep Kaur Sethi brings a warm, child-centred approach to understanding those individual ways of communicating, and to helping children build the skills they need to thrive.

An RCI-registered Rehabilitation Counselor specialising in child and adolescent psychology, she has over four years of experience with children and adolescents across clinical, educational and rehabilitation settings, including VIMHANS Hospital, Potentials Therapy Centre and Prometheus School. She holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Amity University and is a gold medallist — first rank — in the Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling, an RCI-registered course.

Her clinical work has a strong focus on neurodevelopmental disorders. She also sees children and adolescents with emotional, behavioural, social and adjustment-related concerns, through individual counselling and psychological support. Her practice includes psychological and developmental assessments, child counselling, play-based interventions, behaviour modification, social communication and skill-building, parent counselling, psychoeducation, and individualised intervention planning.

Counselling, for her, is not only about addressing challenges. It is also about giving children the right tools, support and opportunities to learn, grow and thrive. Using play, conversation, activities and creative learning, she aims to make therapy something children can look forward to rather than something they have to do — a space where they feel comfortable being themselves and build confidence through small successes.

She places equal importance on parental support and teamwork. Lasting progress is strongest when children, parents and professionals work together. By involving families in the process and helping them understand their child's needs, she works to make therapeutic support meaningful both in sessions and in everyday life.

At Lavender Lane, Ms. Sethi sees children and adolescents for psychological and developmental assessment, counselling, play-based intervention and parent support, including care for autism, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental concerns.
